Gossip!

Note: Not asking you to reveal secrets. Give us the who without the what, or the what without the who, or obscure identity in some other way if you like. Would like to be titillated, though.

1. Are you privy to a secret about a famous person? Do you read gossip about famous people in magazines or online ?

I don’t know any famous people to know any of their secrets. I occasionally glance at the tabloid magazines when in line at the grocery store but have never really sought out celebrity gossip.

2. Do you know of a co-worker, friend or neighbor who is currently having an affair? Are you having an affair?

At my new job, I don’t know of anyone having an affair. At my old job, I know plenty of people who were having affairs. I am not having an affair, I find it quite distasteful having been on the one cheated on many times before.

3. Have you ever had a secret that made you the subject of gossip?

Plenty of times. I seemed to be friends with people who are not quite good at keeping quiet. By the time it is spread around, it has been so twisted that it is 100x worse than the original secret.

4. Do you like hearing gossip? What kind interests you most, e.g. sexual behavior, drug use, lying, betrayal, etc?

I’m not a fan of it except when I hear about a coworker I don’t like finally getting the punishment they deserve for not doing their job. For example, I work in a call center and one of my coworkers would just hang up on customers when he was talking to the person beside him so he wouldn’t be bothered.

5. Do you pass gossip on when you hear it?

I won’t lie. I have been guilty of passing on gossip I’ve heard about people I don’t like, though I try to refrain from it. Sometimes I will tell the person I hear the gossip about what I heard so they know what is being said.

6. Do you consider telling your spouse or partner to be consistent with a promise not to tell? Is he or she trustworthy with secrets?

J is sometimes good at keeping a secret but not all the time. He tends to forget that he wasn’t supposed to tell anyone then I have to deal with the aftermath which is never quite as easy as you hope it will be.

Bonus: What is one private thing that you would like to know about someone?

I would like to know if RDD from my past is really getting married and if the woman is right for him. He was my first love and close friend for many years before we started growing apart. We still loved each other but always had bad timing, but that is a long story that I will tell another time.
